How to send website feedback to Discord

Create a forum channel and each comment becomes its own post, with replies and changes in its thread.

Connect a Discord forum channel and each comment on your site becomes its own forum post, with the screenshot on it and every reply and change in its thread. It works on every plan, including Free.

Use a forum channel

Discord lets a webhook start threads only in a forum channel. So a forum gives you one post per comment, which is what you want. A text channel works too, with fewer features:

Connect it

  1. Create the forum

In your Discord server, click + beside a channel category and choose Forum. Name it, for example website-feedback. If Forum is not offered, turn on Community first: Server Settings, Enable Community.

  2. Make the webhook

Hover the new forum, click its gear (Edit Channel), then Integrations, Webhooks, New Webhook. Name it ReviewMySites and click Copy Webhook URL.

  3. Open the project's settings

In ReviewMySites, use Settings in the ⋯ on the project's card or the gear on its board, then choose Integrations. You need to be an owner or admin.

  4. Add Discord

Press Add, paste the link, and give the channel a name so you can recognise it later.

  5. Send a test

A new post appears in the forum, made from your project's latest comment. There is nothing else to set: ReviewMySites sees that the link belongs to a forum.

What arrives

A card in the comment's status colour, with its number and project, the author's words, the details you chose in two columns, the screenshot, and links to View on site and View in ReviewMySites. The forum post's title is the comment's number and first words, so the list is easy to scan.

The card is edited whenever the comment changes, and if it is deleted the card says so. Nobody gets pinged: posts never notify @everyone, whatever a comment says.

Staying with a text channel?

Its cards stay up to date and nothing else is posted, which keeps the channel calm. If you also want a message for each reply and change, turn on Post updates as new messages in What to send.

Moving from a text channel to a forum? In the connection's ⋯ choose Add another channel, paste the forum's link, then disconnect the old one. Cards already posted stay where they are; new comments become posts. See everything that connects.
