Paste a webhook link from a Google Chat space and each new comment arrives as a card with its screenshot, with its own thread for everything that follows. It works on every plan, including Free.
Before you start
Google Chat webhooks need a Business or Enterprise Google Workspace account, and your Workspace admin has to allow them. If you cannot add a webhook, that setting is probably off: ask your admin to turn on “Allow users to add and use incoming webhooks”. Add it from a browser, as the mobile app cannot.
Connect it
- Make the link in Google Chat
Open the space, click the arrow beside its name, choose Apps & integrations, then Add webhooks. Name it ReviewMySites, save, and copy the link.
- Open the project's settings
In ReviewMySites, use Settings in the ⋯ on the project's card or the gear on its board, then choose Integrations. You need to be an owner or admin.
- Add Google Chat
Press Add, paste the link, and give the space a name so you can recognise it later.
- Send a test
It posts a real card from your project's latest comment.
What arrives in the space
A card with the comment's number and project, the author's words, the screenshot, the details you chose in two columns, any attached files as links, and buttons for View on site and View in ReviewMySites.
How updates work
Every comment gets its own thread, so a busy project does not flood the space.
- Replies go in the comment's thread.
- Changes to the status, assignee, due date, tags, priority or words go there as a line saying what changed and who changed it.
- A deleted comment is noted there too.
A webhook cannot edit a card it posted, so the card itself keeps showing the comment as it was. For the same reason, it waits a moment for the screenshot before posting, so the picture is on it from the start.
