The review bar is designed to stay invisible unless it is asked for, so “nothing happened” has a handful of usual causes. Work down this list; most problems are the first or second one.
1. The address has no ?rms
The bar only starts on a review link. Add ?rms to the address (or &rms if it already has a question mark) and reload. A link that went through an email tracker or a URL shortener sometimes loses it on the way.
2. The script is not on the page yet
Open the project's Connect panel. If it still says Not connected yet, the script has not been loaded by a browser on your site. Check that the change was published (Webflow, Framer and most builders need a publish), and that a cache or CDN is not still serving the old page. Viewing the page source and searching for embed.js answers it for certain.
3. Wrong domain
The script only runs on the domain the project was created for, with or without www. The Connect panel says Wrong domainand names where it found the script. Move the script, change the project's URL, or create a separate project for a staging site.
4. The script was copied from a local or preview dashboard
A script that points at localhost or at one preview build can never run on your live site. Copy it again from app.reviewmysites.com; the Connect panel warns about this case.
5. The site's security policy blocks it
Open the browser console. Errors that mention Content Security Policy mean the site only allows scripts from listed domains. Allow https://app.reviewmysites.com in script-src, style-src, frame-src and connect-src.
6. The bar appears but will not let you comment
The bar is there, but the server does not know you yet. Sign in from the bar, or ask for a share link set to Commenter. If you were invited, accept the invitation from the email first. Blocking third-party cookies does not matter: the bar signs you in through a small pop-up window, so allow pop-ups for the site if your browser blocks it.
7. Comments save without a screenshot
On a computer, screenshots need either the screenshots extension or screen sharing turned on from the bar. On a phone, attach one with the Screenshot button. Details in Screenshots.
8. A pin is in the wrong place
If the page changed a lot since the comment, its pin moves to the nearest parent element that still exists and is marked as approximate. If it is your comment, Retake (hover the pin) lets you point at the right element again.
