A workspace holds your projects, the people on them and the plan they run on. You get one when you sign up, and you can create as many more as you like.
Your first workspace
Signing up creates a workspace for you, and you are its owner. Everything you make from then on, projects, invitations, statuses, lives inside it. You can rename it any time in Settings → Workspace.
Create more, as many as you need
There is no limit on how many workspaces you can own. Open the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar and choose New workspace. Give it a name and you are switched straight into it.
- Open the switcher
It sits at the top of the sidebar and shows the workspace you are in.
- Choose New workspace
At the bottom of the list.
- Name it
For example the client or the side of the business it is for. You can rename it later.
What each workspace keeps to itself
| Kept per workspace | What it means |
|---|---|
| Projects | Each project belongs to one workspace. Moving between workspaces shows only that workspace’s projects. |
| People | Members, admins and clients are added to a workspace. Someone in one of yours sees nothing of the others. |
| Plan and billing | Every workspace has its own plan, seats and invoices. Upgrading one does not upgrade the others. |
| Statuses | The default board columns are set per workspace, and each project can still tailor its own. |
Workspaces you were invited to
When someone invites you into their workspace, it appears in the same switcher, under Other workspaces (or Shared with you if you own none). Pending invitations show there too, with Accept and Decline. The owner of that workspace pays for it; being a member of other workspaces never costs you anything.
Leave or delete a workspace
Both are at the bottom of Settings → Workspace. If you were invited, Leave workspace removes you from it. If you own it, Delete workspace removes the workspace and everything in it, after you type its name to confirm.
