Connect a project to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat or Discord and each comment arrives as a card in a channel, with its screenshot, page and assignee. Chat apps are free on every plan.
Connect a channel
Open the project's Project settings and choose Integrations. Owners and admins can connect, and your team can see what is connected. A project can have up to 10 connections.
| App | How it connects | Step by step |
|---|---|---|
| Slack | Press Add to Slack and pick a channel on Slack’s own screen. | Slack guide |
| Microsoft Teams | Create a Workflows link for the channel and paste it. | Teams guide |
| Google Chat | Add a webhook to the space and paste its link. Needs a Business or Enterprise Google Workspace account, and your admin has to allow webhooks. | Google Chat guide |
| Discord | Create a webhook, best on a forum channel, and paste its link. | Discord guide |
What each app can do
The same comment, as far as each app goes:
| Replies in a thread | The card updates in place | @mentions notify people | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slack | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Discord | In a forum channel | Yes | No |
| Google Chat | Yes | No: a line in the thread says what changed | No |
| Microsoft Teams | No | No: a new line says what changed | No |
What to send
Each connection has its own choice, under What to send:
- Which events
A new comment, a reply, a status change or resolve, and an assignment.
- Which details
Page, status, priority, assignee, due date, tags and more. Browser, OS, screen size and logs start off, because channels are often shared with clients. You can also turn off showing the screenshot.
- Only mentions
Post only comments and replies holding an @mention, for a busy channel.
Keep conversations in your chat app
Under Conversations at the top of the Chat card, owners and admins can turn off replying in ReviewMySites while a chat connection is active. The board then shows where to reply instead of its reply box, and you can still let clients and link guests reply on the board. New comments are never stopped.
If a connection is paused
After 5 failed deliveries in a row, a connection pauses and the owner is emailed once. This usually means the channel or its link was deleted. Resume it, or paste a new link, and the count starts again.
